NGC1316 Galaxy in Fornax showing SuperNova Nov 06

The images were taken at f/4.5 x 13.1in at prime focus.

The first image is a single image at 4 mins exp and was taken on October 10th 2006
The second image is a composite of 15 images each taken at 1 min exp. This one was taken on 17th Nov 2006
and shows a supernova occurrence.
The third image is a 39 minute composite taken during October 2008. The supernova, no longer visible

NGC 1316 is about 53 million light years away.
The smaller object at bottom left is the galaxy NGC1317
