DETAILS This group of galaxies is known a (HGC 16) or Hickson Compact Group 16. NGC838, a spiral LINER galaxy with starburst activity, SN 2005H occurred here. NGC839 edge-on spiral with LINER Sefert2 activity. NGC835 is a barred spiral with LINER and Seyfert2 activity. NGC848 is a barred spiral galaxy with starburst activity. NGC833 is a LINER galaxy with Seyfert2 activity. Galaxies NGC833 and NGC835 seem to be interacting, extending a plume of gas and stars away from the zone of interactivity.
