DETAILS | The top image has been treated using Digital Development filters to enhance the structure of the central core of this galaxy. NGC1097 is a Barred Spiral LINER type galaxy with companion galaxy NGC1097A. Supernova SN 1992bd occurred close to the galactic core and SN 1999eu and SN 2003B were also discovered here. |
