DETAILS | NGC3623 is a weakly barred spiral LINER type galaxy. A fairly heavy dust ring encircles the galaxy but does not seem to be peripheral, rather more about a third of the way in. SN 2013am was discovered here. The image also shows the asteroid (26680) Wangchristi. |
