DETAILS NGC4472, also known as Messier 49 is an elliptical galaxy, The supernova SN 1969Q occurred in this region. The following are much smaller surrounding galaxies: NGC 4467 an elliptical galaxy, NGC 4465 a spiral galaxy, NGC 4471 possibly an elliptical galaxy, VIII Zw 189 and VCC 1199. The 2 labelled SDSS J122939.20+080229.1 and SDSS J122928.82+080359.2 are much more distant.
